Here comes Art Hop!

AH09_LTAM_FlyerSo…did you hear we’re having a little party this weekend?  Art on Alberta proudly presents the project we’ve been developing for over a year: our 10th annual Art Hop, featuring almost 50 original works by artist Thelma Johnson Streat (1911-1959.)  Click here to go to our website where you can download a biography of this amazing woman and get a sneak preview of what you’ll see this weekend.

2507754516_fb2dc7d651The weather is predicted to be fabulous, so whether you’re an art lover, or an artist who wants to set up shop (we just opened up a whole new section for artists, extending all the way down to 12th Avenue so there’s still time to sign up) come join in on the celebration.

We are narrowing in on our budget shortfall, thanks to generous contributions from individuals all around the city.  This allows us to do the full closure from NE 12th Avenue up to NE 30th, as well as a parade that will run the entire length!  Thank you to those who have already donated, and click here to make your donation today.

RedDotsPrograms are hitting the streets today with the full schedule of events from 11am-6pm.  Please join us at the Art on Alberta office (1614 NE Alberta Street) at 1pm this Saturday for a brief ceremony honoring our featured artist.  The family of Thelma Johnson Streat will be present, as well as Tom Manley, President of Pacific Northwest College of Art, where Streat attended in the 1930’s.
