We wanted to point out some particular events happening during this month’s Last Thursday that are sure to daze and amaze!
First off in Art on Alberta’s Grow Gallery is the exhibition “The Ache,” by artist Alexis Mollomo. Alexis’s oil paintings express the “sometimes disjointed, subconscious aspects of humanity and bring(s) attention to issues of ethical conflict.” This is a one night only exhibit at 1614 NE Alberta St. from 6-9pm. Stop in and say hi, we’d love to meet you!
On your way to the exhibit you should keep your eyes peeled for some of the Oregon Ballet Theatre dancers. They will be strutting their stuff in front of our gallery intermittently between 6:30-9:30pm. The dancers will create a movement installation guided by the form and design of classical dance, yet responsive to the unique environment of Last Thursday.
Our fearless leader and President of Art on Alberta, Hilary Pfeifer, is having a collaborative exhibit with her cousin Tripper Dungan titled “Neighborhood Birds.” Stop by to see the fruits of their labor at Guardino Gallery located at 2939 NE Alberta St. The exhibit runs from August 27 – September 20 with the opening during the August 27 Last Thursday from 6-9pm.
And while you’re out and about be sue to check out Fuel Cafe’s Found Photo & Footage exhibit. Located at NE 14th & Alberta, Fuel will be projecting vintage movie clips outdoors in partnership with the organization NW Documentary.
We hope to see you there!
